Reston, Virginia, United States, July 2025 – Mary Kay Gribbons has been appointed as the Chief Human Resources Officer at Bowman Consulting, a leading national engineering services firm. In this key leadership role, she will be responsible for leading Bowman’s human capital strategy, building organizational capabilities, and fostering a high-performance, people-first culture across its rapidly growing footprint of over 100 U.S. locations.
Prior to joining Bowman Consulting, Mary Kay Gribbons served as Chief Human Resources Officer at Sunrise Senior Living for nearly four years. There, she led enterprise-wide HR strategy for over 23,000 employees and 270 communities across the U.S. and Canada, contributing significantly to Sunrise’s continued recognition as one of the Best Workplaces in Aging Services by Fortune and Great Place to Work Institute.
Earlier, she held the role of CHRO and Senior Vice President of Human Resources at Dean Foods, a Fortune 250 CPG company. During her tenure, she played a strategic role in HR transformation and workforce alignment for the $8 billion food and beverage organization.
Before Dean Foods, she was CHRO and EVP of Human Resources at Animal Supply Company, where she oversaw the HR function across 17 national distribution centers, driving talent strategy in alignment with rapid expansion in the pet supplies distribution sector.
Mary Kay’s career also includes over 15 years at American Airlines, where she held multiple key leadership roles. These included Managing Director for Executive Compensation, Retirement, and Talent Management, General Manager of Kansas City International Airport, and Director of Employee Relations, Benefits, and Union Negotiations. Her extensive experience with organizational transformation and large-scale people operations makes her a valuable addition to Bowman’s executive team.
She holds an MBA in Finance from Duke University’s Fuqua School of Business.
