Johannesburg, South Africa, October 2025 – WEINERT Industries South Africa, a leader in photonics and fiber-optic technologies, has announced the appointment of Maryn Lotter as its new Chief Human Resources Officer (CHRO). In this strategic role, Maryn will lead the company’s people and culture agenda, aligning HR strategy with WEINERT’s innovation-driven growth and operational excellence across South Africa and global markets.
Maryn Lotter brings over two decades of human resources leadership experience across the mining, metals, and industrial sectors, with a proven record of building high-performing, people-centric organizations.
Before joining WEINERT Industries South Africa, Maryn served as HR Manager at Samancor Chrome for over four years, where she played a pivotal role in driving employee engagement, leadership capability development, and workforce transformation. She was instrumental in embedding organizational culture initiatives that strengthened business performance and talent retention in a highly competitive sector.
Prior to this, she held the position of Group Executive – HRO at Saturn Management Company, leading strategic HR programs and providing executive-level advisory on leadership, coaching, and organizational design. Her focus on building agile structures and nurturing inclusive workplaces helped position the company for long-term sustainability.
Maryn’s longest tenure was with Glencore Lydenburg Smelter, where she served as Senior Human Resources Manager for over eight years. During her leadership, she oversaw end-to-end HR operations, talent management, and labor relations, fostering a cohesive culture across the organization’s workforce. Earlier in her career, she spent nearly nine years with Samancor, progressing from HR Practitioner to HR Superintendent, where she honed her expertise in recruitment, negotiation, industrial relations, and organizational development.
A lifelong learner, Maryn holds an MPhil in Personal and Professional Leadership from the University of Johannesburg, reflecting her deep commitment to leadership growth, human development, and values-driven HR practices.
