Gaborone, Botswana, January 2025 – Matshidiso Kereteletswe has taken on the role of Chief Information Officer (CIO) at Access Bank (Botswana) Plc, bringing nearly three decades of expertise in Information Communications and Technology (ICT) and over 20 years of experience in the banking sector. Known for her strategic approach to leveraging technology for cost-effective business solutions and transformative initiatives, Matshidiso will play a key role in driving innovation and enhancing customer experiences at the bank.
In her new position, she will oversee the bank’s technology-driven solutions and focus on sustainable practices while empowering communities. Matshidiso holds a Master of Business Administration from De Montfort University in the United Kingdom and a Bachelor of Computer Science Degree from Technical University (TUNS) in Canada.

Prior to joining Access Bank, Matshidiso was the Director at O & M Transformation Group Pty Ltd, where she led strategic initiatives focused on technology and change management. Before this, she served as Head of Technology & Operations at Stanbic Bank Botswana, managing customer service and ICT strategies for nearly two years.
Previously, she held the role of Chief Operating Officer at First National Bank of Botswana Limited, where she oversaw the bank’s operations and played a pivotal role in strategy implementation. Her earlier career includes a tenure as Head of Operations at Stanbic Bank Botswana, where she led operational strategies, and as Chief Internal Auditor at Barclays Bank Botswana, focusing on delivering the bank’s internal audit strategy.
