Toronto, Ontario, Canada, September 2025 – Matt Lewis-Strauch has taken on a new leadership role as Chief People Officer at WeirFoulds LLP, bringing a dynamic blend of consulting, corporate HR leadership, and future-of-work expertise to one of Canada’s most respected law firms. In this role, Matt will lead the firm’s people strategy across talent, culture, leadership development, and organizational effectiveness as WeirFoulds continues to scale its legal and advisory capabilities.
Prior to joining WeirFoulds LLP, Matt Lewis-Strauch spent close to six years at Sun Life, where he served in multiple senior leadership roles. Most recently, as AVP, Talent & Culture Strategy & Enablement, he led key strategic initiatives to strengthen Sun Life’s people agenda. Earlier, he served as AVP HRBP and Head, Future of the Workforce, where he championed workforce transformation strategies, and also led Talent Management & Future of Work programs, positioning the organization as a forward-looking employer of choice.
Before Sun Life, Matt spent over six years at Deloitte, where he held dual roles as Future of Work Global Program Leader and Senior Manager, Human Capital Consulting. His consulting portfolio spanned global talent strategy, change management, and organizational transformation for clients across sectors. His work was instrumental in helping organizations adapt to shifting workforce expectations and digital disruption.
Earlier in his career, Matt held key roles in business development and sales, including as Director of Sales at Career Spark, Senior Business Development Manager at Achievers, and Sales Representative at OLG. He also co-founded and operated Gurts Bakery and Frozen Yogurt, demonstrating his entrepreneurial mindset and ability to build strong customer-centric cultures from the ground up.
