Melbourne, Victoria, Australia, June 2024 – Melanie Fisher has joined SecondBite and FareShare as the new Chief People Officer. With a wealth of experience in human resources, Melanie will drive strategic HR initiatives to foster organizational growth, employee engagement, and operational excellence in both organizations.
Melanie Fisher previously served as the People Advisory Manager at Officeworks from October 2023 to May 2024. In this role, she led a team of Employee Relations specialists, managing the centralization of the ER function to improve service delivery and operational efficiency.
Before Officeworks, Melanie was the Head of People and Culture | People Operations Manager at Baptcare from April 2021 to September 2023. She successfully drove a transformation of the P&C strategy and People Operations service delivery model, achieving significant gains in operational efficiency, employee engagement, and recruitment processes.
From October 2020 to April 2021, Melanie held the position of People and Culture Manager at Buildsafe, where she established a national P&C function, reducing employee turnover and enhancing employee support capabilities through improved induction programs and pay structures.
At Cire Services from November 2018 to September 2020, Melanie served as the Senior Manager – People and Safety, leading a newly created People and Safety group and implementing a fleet management solution, leadership programs, and a Design Thinking approach to organizational change.
Melanie also worked as a Senior HR Consultant | Senior HR Advisor at Human Angle: Counselling and Consulting from May 2013 to March 2020. She provided consulting services to various clients, including Hawthorn Football Club, Red Bubble, and Healesville Hotel, focusing on employee support programs, organizational design, and engagement strategies.
She was the Senior Manager – People and Culture at Hawthorn Football Club from April 2015 to April 2017, where she developed a strategic plan to improve employee engagement and professional development.
Earlier in her career, Melanie held roles as an HR Business Partner at Xchanging, an HR Advisor at Accenture, a Contracts Advisor at Nine Entertainment Co., and the Vice President of Human Resources at Markit.
SecondBite is a national not-for-profit organization established to rescue food, minimize food waste, and provide it free of charge to those experiencing hunger and food insecurity.
