Greater Minneapolis-St. Paul Area, United States, February 2026 – Mitchell McGrath has stepped into an expanded role as VP, Regional Head of HR, People and Leader Advisory at Thomson Reuters, now overseeing the Global People & Leader Advisory function across the Americas, UKI, Continental Europe, the Middle East, and Africa.
In this broadened mandate, Mitchell will lead regional HR strategy and advisory services across multiple global markets, strengthening alignment between people strategy, leadership effectiveness, and business performance. His expanded portfolio reflects Thomson Reuters’ continued investment in a globally integrated and agile People function.
Previously, Mitchell served as Vice President, Regional Head of HR, US & Canada, where he led a team of 40 HR professionals supporting 11,000 employees. His responsibilities spanned employee relations, performance management, manager consulting, HR operations (Workday), compliance, and policy governance. He also owned a multi-million dollar HR vendor contract covering benefits, payroll, and integrations, ensuring a strong employee experience across the region.
Mitchell has played a pivotal role in several global initiatives, including leading hybrid work strategy implementation, spearheading regional M&A activity—including the global leadership of a divestiture involving 900+ employees across seven countries—and championing AI adoption across the People function to remove low-value tasks and elevate strategic HR impact. Earlier in his Thomson Reuters tenure, he led global flexible work policy design, created leadership toolkits, built high-potential development programs with measurable promotion outcomes, and drove HR transformation through agile consulting methodologies.
With over a decade of progressive HR leadership at Thomson Reuters and a strong foundation in employee relations, organizational design, and talent strategy, Mitchell’s expanded regional scope signals the company’s confidence in his ability to drive people excellence across complex global markets.
