Toronto, Ontario, Canada, July 2025 – Mona Malone has taken on an expanded mandate at BMO Financial Group, assuming the role of Chief Administrative Officer while continuing to serve as Chief Human Resources Officer and Head of People, Culture and Brand. In this dual capacity, she will lead integrated, digital-first strategies to power BMO’s growth and future-readiness, reinforcing its commitment to employee experience and operational excellence.
Mona Malone has been a cornerstone of BMO’s leadership for over sixteen years, most recently holding the position of CHRO and Head of People & Culture since 2019. During this time, she has been instrumental in shaping BMO’s award-winning workplace culture and driving inclusive leadership, talent development, and employee engagement across the enterprise.
Prior to this, she served as Deputy Head of HR and Chief Talent Officer, where she led enterprise-wide efforts in hiring, growing, and developing top talent. Earlier roles include CHRO for Personal & Commercial Banking, Regional Vice President of Personal Banking for Central Toronto, and Chief Talent Officer, each role underscoring her strategic impact on BMO’s people agenda and business performance.
In earlier phases of her career, Mona served as VP, Leadership & Enterprise Learning, leading enterprise learning including risk and regulatory learning initiatives. She also contributed as VP Marketing & Product Management at ePost, a joint venture between BMO and Canada Post, before returning to BMO in progressively senior HR roles. Her career began at Ernst & Young Management Consulting, where she specialized in organizational change management and strategic HR.
Mona Malone is an alumna of the Ivey Business School at Western University, holding an HBA in Business Administration and Management.
