This strategic leadership transition comes as former MD Olivier Gasperin returns to Pernod Ricard HQ, following a successful three-and-a-half-year tenure where he oversaw the seamless integration of The Whisky Exchange into the Pernod Ricard family while preserving its distinct identity.
Tennent’s appointment comes at a pivotal moment as Pernod Ricard continues to expand its digital footprint. Her vast experience in premium spirits and commercial strategy positions her to accelerate The Whisky Exchange’s e-commerce growth and further strengthen its reputation as a leader in high-end and limited-edition spirits retail.
Prior to her appointment at The Whisky Exchange, Natalie Tennent spent over 30 years at Berry Bros. & Rudd, where she held a series of high-impact leadership roles. Most recently, she served as Chief Commercial Officer, where she led the commercial transformation of one of Britain’s oldest wine and spirits merchants, shaping strategies for global market expansion and customer experience innovation.
Previously, she was Chief Operating Officer and Managing Director, International, roles in which she played a vital part in streamlining global operations and driving growth across markets. Her earlier roles included Chief Operating Officer for Spirits, Finance & Operations Director at BBR Spirits, and Financial Controller at Cutty Sark International, underscoring her comprehensive understanding of finance, operations, and supply chain in the beverage sector.
Tennent’s journey also included positions as Commercial Manager, Senior Management Accountant, and Regional Management Accountant, all of which reflect her deep-rooted expertise in business performance management and commercial acumen.
She also served as a Non-Executive Director at Purearth Life Ltd, where she provided strategic guidance to a wellness-based startup, diversifying her exposure beyond traditional spirits retail.
