San Diego, California, United States, September 2025 – SIG (Strata Information Group) has announced the appointment of Neil O’Neill as its new Chief Operating Officer (COO). In this leadership role, he will oversee operational strategy, organizational efficiency, and client service excellence as SIG continues expanding its global footprint in education and enterprise technology consulting.
Neil joins SIG after nearly a decade at Ellucian, where he held several senior leadership positions. Most recently, he served as Senior Vice President, Strategy & Operations COO, leading organizational strategy, operational excellence, and customer success for Ellucian’s global client base of over 2,900 institutions across 50 countries. Earlier, he was Senior Vice President, Services Strategy & Innovation, Vice President, Professional Services North America, and Senior Director, Global Services, where he modernized delivery models, strengthened client engagement, and scaled international consulting practices.
Before Ellucian, Neil spent over four years as Director, Technical Center of Excellence, Global Services US, where he managed 120+ consultants globally, oversaw technical implementations across multiple regions, and drove strategic service delivery improvements. He previously served as Director, Professional Services & Consultancy EMEAI & SEA, leading consultancy teams across Europe, the Middle East, and Asia.
Earlier in his career, Neil was Head of Professional Services at TERMINALFOUR, managing international service portfolios, and Project Lead (IT Department) at Musgrave, where he oversaw large-scale IT transformation initiatives. He began his career as an ASP.Net Developer and Project Manager at Host Ireland Business Broadband (Elio Networks), while also serving as an Associate Staff Lecturer at Technological University Dublin, combining technical expertise with academic contributions.
