Mumbai, Maharashtra, India, July 2025 – Nikunj Nangalia has been appointed as the Chief Commercial Officer at Essar Future Energy, marking a pivotal step in his accomplished journey across the energy, infrastructure, and sustainability sectors. In this strategic leadership role, Nikunj will be responsible for driving the commercial and international growth agenda, with a focus on scaling Essar Future Energy’s clean energy and decarbonization portfolio across global markets.
Prior to joining Essar Future Energy, Nikunj spent five years at ReNew, most recently serving as AVP, International Business Development & Sales in Singapore. He played a leading role in driving strategic partnerships, green hydrogen and ammonia ventures, carbon credit monetization, and co-investment deals with global corporations, managing energy transition projects worth over USD 4 billion. He also built a 50+ client pipeline across Europe, Japan, and Australia, and launched ReNew’s carbon markets vertical.
Before that, he was General Manager – Project Development at ReNew, where he led the execution of 1.5 GW wind-solar hybrid B2B projects, optimized capex spends, and secured major PPAs with tech giants. His leadership helped save INR 40 Cr in customer penalties while streamlining multi-megawatt project lifecycles.
Earlier, Nikunj worked at DLF Limited as General Manager, PMO, overseeing 12+ million sq. ft. of commercial and residential real estate development. He led cost optimization, high-performance organization initiatives, and cross-functional team management of over 300 professionals.
His earlier roles include significant stints at Larsen & Toubro, where he was Executive Assistant to the Group Executive Chairman and later Manager, Proposals & Estimation at L&T Hydrocarbon Engineering, and a seven-year tenure at Engineers India Limited, where he managed large EPC/PMC projects and led engineering, procurement, and sustainability initiatives.
