Küsnacht, Zurich, Switzerland, January 2026 — Novelis has announced that Emilio Braghi will be stepping into the role of Chief Operating Officer (COO), marking a key leadership transition as the company continues to strengthen its global operational excellence and sustainability-led growth agenda.
In his new role as Chief Operating Officer, Emilio Braghi will be responsible for overseeing Novelis’ global operations, manufacturing, and supply chain footprint, supporting the company’s long-term strategy as the world’s leading producer of flat-rolled aluminium products and the largest recycler of aluminium.
Braghi has been associated with Novelis for over two decades and has held several senior leadership positions across geographies. Most recently, he has been serving as Chief Operating Officer & Executive Vice President, Novelis Europe, a role he assumed in January 2026, following a long tenure as Executive Vice President & President, Novelis Europe, where he led the region’s strategic, operational, and commercial priorities for nearly a decade.
Earlier in his career at Novelis, Braghi served as Vice President, Operations, Novelis North America, where he was responsible for overseeing operations and supply chain activities across the region, driving efficiency, reliability, and customer-centric manufacturing performance.
Before joining Novelis, he held leadership roles at Alcan, including Sales Director, Europe – Building Products, gaining early exposure to the aluminium industry’s commercial and operational dynamics.
With extensive experience spanning operations, regional leadership, and large-scale manufacturing networks, Emilio Braghi brings deep institutional knowledge and a strong global perspective to his expanded role as COO, positioning Novelis to further advance its operational resilience and sustainability commitments.
