Madrid, Community of Madrid, Spain, February 2026 – Pablo Von Zehmen has taken on a new leadership mandate as Chief of Strategy & Business Transformation at AstraZeneca Spain, marking a significant milestone in a distinguished international career spanning more than two decades across global healthcare markets.
In his new role, Pablo joins the senior executive committee and will lead the strategic evolution of the organization, defining the future blueprint across people, processes, and technology. He will focus on optimizing structural processes, generating sustainable efficiencies, and proactively anticipating market shifts. Working closely with global, regional, and local teams, he will drive deeper integration of AI, advanced analytics, and execution excellence to accelerate decision-making and strengthen organizational adaptability.
Prior to this appointment, Pablo served nearly five years as Senior Director, Cardiovascular, Renal & Metabolic (CVRM) Business Unit at AstraZeneca Spain, leading a team of more than 240 associates and managing a portfolio exceeding $350 million in sales. During this period, he drove comprehensive business transformation—achieving sustained sales growth through disciplined portfolio strategy and strong P&L management. He successfully led multiple launches across heart failure, chronic kidney disease, type 2 diabetes, hyperkalemia, and amyloidosis, while redesigning the commercial structure toward data-driven omnichannel models. His tenure was also marked by deep organizational transformation, integrating digital capabilities, AI, and advanced analytics to build a more future-ready, cross-functional enterprise.
Earlier, Pablo held senior leadership roles at Laboratorios Sanfer, where as General Manager for Argentina, Uruguay, Paraguay and Bolivia, he led structural reorganization, doubled sales, achieved operating income turnaround, and secured major commercial deals generating substantial incremental revenue. His career also includes over a decade of progressive leadership at Novartis, spanning global brand management, business development, franchise leadership, and financial stewardship roles across Switzerland, the United States, and Latin America. Across these mandates, he consistently delivered market share gains, successful portfolio launches, cross-divisional partnerships, and optimized financial performance.
With extensive international exposure across Europe, Latin America, and North America, Pablo brings deep expertise in strategic transformation, portfolio optimization, commercialization excellence, and organizational design. His appointment reflects AstraZeneca Spain’s commitment to strengthening its long-term strategic architecture and building an agile, future-ready healthcare organization.
