London, England, United Kingdom, July 2025 – Päivi Rekonen has joined International Airlines Group (IAG) as Non Executive Director, bringing to the role an exceptional portfolio of board-level experience, cross-industry leadership, and deep expertise in digital transformation, governance, and innovation. Her appointment further strengthens IAG’s board as it continues to navigate the evolving dynamics of global aviation and sustainable growth.
Prior to joining IAG, Päivi Rekonen served on the Supervisory and Foundation Boards of IMD, a globally renowned business school based in Lausanne, Switzerland. She has also been actively contributing to corporate governance and strategy as Board Director at Wipro, a global technology company, and as Chair of the Board at AMINA Bank, a Swiss financial institution focused on innovation in banking.
Over the years, Päivi has held board roles at organizations such as Konecranes, Future Board ry, WithSecure, and Efecte Plc, playing instrumental roles in audit and personnel committees and mentoring future leaders. She has also provided strategic oversight as a member of the Strategy Advisory Group for UNOPS, contributing to global humanitarian and development initiatives.
Päivi’s corporate executive career has included leadership positions at UBS, where she led global HR technology and automation, and at Credit Suisse, where she spearheaded large-scale global transformation projects. She also served as Global Head of Digital Strategy at Adecco, and earlier, led regional consulting and HR functions at Cisco across EMEA and Asia Pacific, contributing to major organizational expansions and digital transitions.
She began her career at Nokia, where she held progressive roles in training, leadership development, and competence building across Europe and China. Päivi holds a Master’s in Economics and Business Administration and is recognized for her commitment to sustainable leadership and global corporate excellence.
