Washington DC-Baltimore Area, January 2025 – Paul Spaven has joined Thomas & Taylor Search Partners as President – Executive Talent Solutions – Operations & Engineering, bringing his extensive experience in executive search, aerospace, and operations leadership to the boutique executive search firm. In his new role, Paul will oversee executive talent strategies tailored for operations and engineering sectors, ensuring top-tier placements for clients across innovative technology markets.
Paul brings a wealth of leadership experience spanning over two decades. Prior to joining Thomas & Taylor Search Partners, he served as a Startup Advisor and M&A Deal Advisor, providing strategic guidance to startups in the aviation, space, and defense industries. He also advised buy-side investors on mergers and acquisitions in aerospace and defense sectors.

Previously, Paul was the President of GKN Advanced Defense Systems at GKN Aerospace, where he led a team of 1,800 professionals across multiple manufacturing sites, driving profitability and operational excellence. His leadership has been instrumental in transforming underperforming divisions and implementing growth strategies.
At IAI North America, Paul held multiple leadership roles, including Interim President, Aerospace Division, where he successfully executed plans to reverse revenue declines and led significant mergers. He also served as Vice President of Program Management Operations, where he spearheaded enterprise-wide initiatives to enhance performance and achieve growth objectives.
Earlier in his career, Paul held various operational and leadership roles at Ultra Electronics, Pacific Aerospace Consulting, and the United States Air Force, where he gained deep expertise in aerospace, strategy, and program management.
