Mumbai, Maharashtra, India, May 2025 — Jayashree Satagopan has been appointed as Chief Financial Officer at Sun Pharma, the world’s fourth-largest specialty generic pharmaceutical company, effective July 1, 2025. She will join as EVP – Finance & Accounts and CFO (Designate) on May 9, 2025, succeeding C S Muralidharan, who is set to retire. The company announced the leadership transition via a filing with the Indian stock exchanges.
Bringing nearly three decades of rich financial and operational leadership, Jayashree Satagopan is set to drive Sun Pharma’s global financial strategy and governance. In her most recent role as President – Corporate & CFO at Coromandel International Limited, she played an instrumental role in spearheading financial transformation and growth initiatives for the organization.
Prior to Coromandel, she held the position of President & CFO at PI Industries Ltd, where she was a key partner in driving business transformation and strategic growth. Her financial acumen and leadership were also evident at International Paper, where she served as Chief Financial Officer, International Paper India and Board Member, International Paper APPM Ltd, managing strategic investments, corporate governance, and enterprise risk management.
Earlier, Jayashree spent nearly 10 years at GE Healthcare, leading diverse roles, including Vice President – Interventional & Surgery, South Asia and CFO, Global Supply Chain, India. She also contributed significantly to Ford India as Finance Manager, overseeing business planning, forecasting, and treasury operations.
Jayashree began her career at Ashok Leyland Limited, where she was responsible for managing foreign exchange portfolios, export-import financing, and regulatory compliance.
Her appointment comes at a critical juncture for Sun Pharma, as the company sharpens its focus on innovation, operational excellence, and robust financial governance to drive sustained global growth. Jayashree’s extensive cross-sector and multinational experience positions her to lead the company’s finance function with vision and agility.
