London, United Kingdom, October 2024 – Paula Stannett has been appointed as the Chief People Officer at Royal Mail, where she will lead human resource strategies and initiatives for one of the UK’s largest and most iconic postal services companies. With over 35 years of experience in HR and management, Paula brings a wealth of knowledge and leadership to her new role at Royal Mail, where she will oversee talent management, employee engagement, and organizational culture.
Before joining Royal Mail, Paula had a long and distinguished career at Heathrow, where she worked for over 25 years. Most recently, she served as the Executive HR Director for almost 12 years. During her tenure at Heathrow, she played a pivotal role in shaping HR policies and fostering a strong organizational culture across the airport’s operations. Her work included leading strategic initiatives that supported Heathrow’s transformation into a world-class airport.
Prior to her role as Executive HR Director, Paula held various leadership positions at Heathrow, including HR Director for Airports Division & Support Services and Reward Director. She was also the Programme Director for a brief period, where she contributed to key operational changes. Paula’s journey at Heathrow began in 1999 as an HR Business Partner, and she steadily rose through the ranks due to her expertise in resourcing, reward management, and HR operations.
Earlier in her career, Paula worked at Asda for nearly 12 years, where she held various roles, including HR Manager, Store Manager, and Graduate Management Trainee. Her time at Asda helped shape her approach to leadership and organizational development, which she has applied successfully throughout her career.
