Mumbai, Maharashtra, India, April 2026 — The Association of Mutual Funds in India (AMFI) has elevated Punit Dharamsi to the role of Executive Vice President, recognizing his significant contributions to investor awareness, industry growth, and brand building within India’s mutual fund ecosystem.
In his expanded role, Punit will continue to play a pivotal part in driving industry-wide marketing, investor education, and strategic communication initiatives, further strengthening AMFI’s mission of enhancing investor trust and expanding participation in mutual funds.
Punit has been associated with AMFI for over nine years, steadily progressing through leadership roles. Most recently, he served as Senior Vice President – Marketing and Investor Education, where he spearheaded one of India’s most impactful financial literacy campaigns, “Mutual Funds Sahi Hai.” The initiative significantly transformed investor perception and contributed to the addition of over 40 million new investors, while supporting the industry’s growth from approximately ₹17 trillion to ₹75 trillion in assets under management.
In this role, he also managed a ₹250 crore+ annual marketing budget, leading integrated campaigns across ATL, BTL, PR, and digital platforms. His leadership enabled AMFI to secure high-visibility platforms such as the IPL, Kaun Banega Crorepati (KBC), and the Olympics, collaborating with iconic personalities like Sachin Tendulkar, MS Dhoni, and Rohit Sharma to amplify investor awareness nationwide.
Earlier, as Vice President – Marketing & Investor Education, Punit led PR and branding efforts for the mutual fund industry, strengthening stakeholder engagement and enhancing the credibility of the sector among retail investors.
Before joining AMFI, he served as AVP – Marketing at DHFL Pramerica Asset Managers (now PGIM India Mutual Fund), where he played a key role in building the brand identity of a new entrant, launching multiple mutual fund products, and driving digital adoption through innovative customer engagement initiatives.
He also held the role of Senior Manager – Marketing at ICICI Bank, where he contributed to brand building, strategic alliances, and large-scale marketing campaigns, earning multiple industry awards and recognition for impactful campaigns.
Punit began his professional journey with Maersk Line, India, gaining exposure to business operations, client management, and strategic project execution, building a strong foundation in business and marketing.
