Delhi, India, November 2024 – Purnima Kumar has stepped into a new role as Head – Total Rewards, People Programs & Talent Acquisition, and Co-Lead – JV Integration at JioStar, the highly anticipated joint venture between Reliance and Disney Star. In this multifaceted role, Purnima will lead critical HR functions, including talent acquisition, total rewards, and people programs, while spearheading the integration of HR operations and culture for the joint venture.
Purnima brings over 20 years of experience in HR leadership, talent strategy, and people operations to her new position. Prior to this role, she served as Executive Director, Talent Acquisition and People Strategy and Programs at The Walt Disney Company, where she led HR strategies for Star, Disney+Hotstar, and Disney’s India operations. Her tenure included driving strategic hiring initiatives, designing innovative people programs, and ensuring alignment with the organization’s business goals.
Before Disney Star, Purnima spent 16 years at Accenture, where she held multiple leadership roles. As Global Recruiting Operations Director, she transformed global recruitment delivery systems, drove strategic sourcing, and enhanced candidate experience. She also served as Head of Human Resources for India Operations, leading HR operations across multiple locations and driving diversity and inclusion programs.
Her earlier responsibilities at Accenture included overseeing social media-based sourcing strategies, HR transformations, and talent management for enabling functions, further showcasing her expertise in scaling HR functions globally.
