Howrah, West Bengal, India, June 2025 — R. P. Gupta has joined Jindal (India) Limited as Executive Vice President – Technical & Operations Head for the company’s Sheet Division. With over 28 years of deep-rooted expertise in the downstream steel segment, his appointment reflects Jindal (India) Limited’s continued focus on operational excellence, product quality, and innovation-led growth.
Gupta’s distinguished career spans several leading organizations in the steel and industrial sector. He most recently served as Senior Vice President at ArcelorMittal Nippon Steel India, where he played a pivotal role in streamlining plant operations and driving output quality. Prior to this, he was Plant Head at Indian Steel Corporation Ltd, where he oversaw critical process improvements across galvanized and colour-coated steel lines.
His leadership credentials also include successful tenures at ACCIL, Olak Roofing Nigeria, and Bhushan Steels, where he was instrumental in leading greenfield projects, ramping up production capacities, and embedding cost-effective manufacturing practices. Earlier, he held operational and technical positions at Hero Group, thyssenkrupp Electrical Steel, Lloyd Steels, and Surya Group, where he gained comprehensive exposure to CRCA, Galvanized, Galvalume, and Colour Coated (CCL) product lines.
In his new role at Jindal (India) Limited, Gupta will be responsible for the complete technical and operations strategy for the sheet division, with a focus on process optimization, digital transformation, cost efficiency, safety excellence, and product quality innovation. Known for his hands-on leadership and ability to cultivate ownership-driven work cultures, he will also lead initiatives in talent development, vendor collaboration, and product reliability.
