Mumbai, Maharashtra, India, January 2026 — Rahul Tewari has taken on the role of Chief Financial Officer at Upstox, strengthening the company’s leadership team as it continues to scale its technology-driven investment platform and expand its footprint across India’s fast-growing retail investing ecosystem.
In his new role at Upstox, Rahul Tewari is responsible for overseeing the company’s overall financial strategy, capital allocation, governance, and long-term value creation. His appointment comes at a time when Upstox is deepening its focus on product innovation, regulatory excellence, and sustainable growth while serving a rapidly expanding base of retail investors.
Prior to joining Upstox, Rahul Tewari served as Chief Financial Officer at DAMAC Digital, where he was involved in deploying a US$20 billion investment program to build AI infrastructure capacity across Europe, Asia, and North America. His responsibilities included building scalable data-center platforms, driving governance of AI joint ventures, and partnering with acquisition, investment, and operations teams to deliver end-to-end value across the infrastructure lifecycle.
Before DAMAC Digital, he spent over five years as Chief Financial Officer at Games24x7, India’s leading multi-gaming unicorn. During his tenure, the platform scaled nearly fourfold, diversified its business model, strengthened governance frameworks, and raised significant growth capital. Alongside this, he also worked with Games24x7 Ventures as an investment professional and served as a Board Observer at CricHeroes, gaining deep exposure to early-stage ventures and consumer internet businesses.
Earlier in his career, Rahul Tewari was Chief Financial Officer at Quikr, where he played a pivotal role in driving operational transformation, executing strategic acquisitions, raising capital, and steering the business toward a transaction-led O2O model. He has also held senior investment banking roles as Executive Vice President and Head – Technology Investment Banking at ICICI Securities, and earlier with Bank of America and RBC Capital Markets, advising on IPOs, M&A, private equity, and cross-border transactions across technology, media, and internet sectors.
He began his professional journey in infrastructure and project finance with KPMG and IFCI, before moving into global investment banking and corporate development roles, including a stint with Avaya in corporate development. Across his career, Rahul Tewari has built deep expertise spanning capital markets, M&A, fundraising, corporate strategy, and financial leadership in high-growth, technology-led businesses.
