Varadarajan’s journey at Abbott began in February 2012, when he joined as the Commercial Director for the Specialty Care division, overseeing the Metabolics & Urology and Neuropsychiatry & Neurosciences divisions. Over an impressive eight-year tenure, he played a pivotal role in driving the company’s growth and market presence in India. Prior to his latest appointment, Varadarajan served as the Commercial Director at Abbott India, a role he held for over three years, demonstrating exceptional leadership and contributing significantly to the company’s strategic and operational success.
Before rejoining Abbott, Varadarajan held the position of Chief Operating Officer at RPG Life Sciences Ltd., where he was responsible for overseeing the company’s operations and setting strategic directions to enhance its market share and profitability. His career also includes pivotal roles at Zydus Cadila, where he was a Vice President for over eight years, and at Ranbaxy (now Sun Pharmaceutical Industries Ltd.), where he served as Senior Manager Marketing, among other positions.
Throughout his career, Varadarajan has been instrumental in launching new divisions and products, showcasing his ability to innovate and lead in highly competitive markets.
