Bengaluru, Karnataka, India, April 2026 – MARG Business Transformation has announced the appointment of Ranan Bhattacharya as Practice Head – Consulting, strengthening its leadership team as it continues to build transformation capabilities for organizations navigating digital disruption and AI-led change. With extensive experience in enterprise transformation, intelligent automation, and large-scale capability building, Ranan brings a strong track record of delivering measurable business impact through technology and people-centric transformation.
Commenting on his appointment, Ranan Bhattacharya shared, “The world is in the midst of a profound technological renaissance. Digital and AI transformation is not just disrupting industries – it is redefining their very foundations. As someone who has spent years leading Technology Centers of Excellence and driving enterprise scale transformation, I have learned that success in this era requires far more than deploying intelligent tools. It demands clarity, courage and a deep respect for the people who power the organisation. Technology evolves fast, but people transform slower – and true leadership lies in bridging the gap. That’s the work I’m excited to take forward in this role.”
Prior to this role, Ranan Bhattacharya spent nearly nine years at Shell, where he held multiple leadership positions driving large-scale digital and enterprise transformation. Most recently, he served as Head of Intelligent Automation, where he spearheaded initiatives across RPA, Process Mining, and OCR, delivering over $200 million in business impact and setting the foundation for further value creation through automation platforms.
Earlier at Shell, he was Salesforce Product and Capabilities Head, where he led enterprise-wide Salesforce implementation, driving significant improvements in customer engagement and operational efficiency. His leadership resulted in enhanced opportunity-to-sales conversion and cost optimization, alongside measurable improvements in customer experience.
He also served as Lead Landscape Manager – Salesforce HR DevOps, where he led transformation of a multi-million-dollar HR technology landscape, reducing operational costs and driving efficiency through automation and cross-skilling initiatives. In addition, his role as Agile Strategist and Senior Agile Coach saw him lead global agile transformation programs, achieving high adoption of agile methodologies and significantly reducing delivery lead times while building organizational capability at scale.
Before joining Shell, Ranan was Senior Manager – Technology Skills Transformation at Tesco Bengaluru, where he led large-scale transformation initiatives impacting over 3,000 employees, working closely with leadership to align product, engineering, and DevOps functions and improve delivery cycles.
Earlier in his career, he held roles at Happiest Minds Technologies, SunGard, and Infosys, where he developed strong expertise in engineering management, project delivery, and enterprise technology solutions, building a solid foundation for his later leadership roles in transformation and consulting.
Ranan has further strengthened his leadership and strategic capabilities through executive education, including the Emerging CTO Program at Indian Institute of Technology, Kanpur, and the Executive Programme in Business Management from Indian Institute of Management Calcutta.
