Ravi Nalwaya Appointed as Managing Director & Head at Staples India

Chennai, India, November 2025 — Staples India has announced the appointment of Ravi Nalwaya as Managing Director & Head, where he will lead the organization’s strategic direction, business growth, and operational expansion from Chennai. In addition to his primary role, Ravi will also oversee the Staples India Business Innovation Hub Private Limited, steering innovation initiatives and strengthening the company’s capability ecosystem that supports its global operations.

Ravi joins Staples India from Ashley Global Capability Center, where he served as Vice President & Head. During his tenure, he successfully established Ashley Furniture Industries’ first Global Capability Center in India and scaled it from inception to a thriving organization of over 550 employees within 2.5 years. He played a pivotal role in setting up two fully operational centers within the first year and led more than 20 global business functions across Finance, HR, Design, Merchandising, IT, Legal, Digital Transformation, and more. His leadership earned him several industry recognitions, including the Top GCC Award (2024) and Country Leader of the Year (2025) at GCCWPA.

Before leading Ashley’s India operations, Ravi spent more than a decade with Ashley Furniture Industries in the United States, where he held senior leadership roles in enterprise architecture and large-scale technology transformation programs. He led the implementation of next-generation Order Management Systems leveraging IBM Sterling technologies, integrating business systems, and enabling transformation across enterprise supply chain environments.

His earlier career experience includes significant leadership and consulting roles at IBM, Bridge Solutions Group, Sterling Commerce (an AT&T company), and Tata Consultancy Services, where he contributed to global retail and commerce transformation programs, omni-channel capabilities, and large-scale systems integration across diverse industries. Ravi’s extensive expertise in enterprise architecture, global capability leadership, and organizational scaling positions him strongly to drive Staples India’s innovation strategy and future growth.
