Kampala, Uganda, September 2025 – Rebecca Amoding-Rukidi has been appointed as Head of Human Resources at Vivo Energy. In her new role, she will lead the company’s HR strategy across Africa, driving employee engagement, leadership development, and organizational transformation to support Vivo Energy’s mission of fuelling Africa’s future.
Before joining Vivo Energy, Rebecca served at the World Food Programme (WFP) as a Human Resource Business Partner for nearly four years. In this role, she played a critical part in WFP Uganda’s HR transformation agenda, providing leadership in HR operations, strategy, talent acquisition, and workplace culture. She advised senior management on all HR matters, led learning and development initiatives, and ensured effective implementation of HR programmes in line with WFP’s Country Strategic Plan.
Earlier, she spent over nine years at Unilever, where she rose to become Head of Human Resources for Uganda and Tanzania. She was instrumental in culture transformation projects, talent management, succession planning, and employee engagement. Under her leadership, Unilever Uganda won multiple Employer of the Year Awards from the Federation of Uganda Employers between 2014 and 2020, including Gold, Silver, and Bronze recognitions for excellence in people development, HR analytics, and employee engagement.
Rebecca’s HR career began at Britania Allied Industries Ltd., where she worked as Human Resources Manager and led strategic HR interventions including industrial relations, performance management, and cultural transformation projects. She later moved to SAS Clinic Kampala as Human Resource Manager, where she set up HR systems and policies, improved training and performance structures, and implemented employee welfare initiatives. She then joined Case Hospital as Human Resources and Administration Manager, where she oversaw HR policy development, recruitment, training, and administrative operations, including compliance with occupational health and safety standards.
In addition to her corporate career, Rebecca has been working as a Transformational Coach and Mentor since 2021, supporting individuals and organizations in leadership growth and personal development. She holds a Master’s degree in Management Studies (Human Resource Management) from the Uganda Management Institute, further strengthening her expertise in strategic HR leadership.
