Gurugram, Haryana, India, May 2026 — Risha Magu has joined Google as Director, Communications & Public Affairs, marking a major leadership appointment in India’s technology, policy, and corporate communications landscape.
Magu brings more than two decades of strategic communications, public affairs, policy, brand reputation, and technology sector leadership experience to Google, where she will oversee communications strategy, stakeholder engagement, innovation narratives, public policy communications, and corporate reputation initiatives across India.
Before joining Google, Magu served for over six years at Meta as Director Communications – Policy & Innovation (India), where she led strategic communications for policy, technology innovation, public affairs, and corporate positioning during a period of significant digital transformation and regulatory evolution.
Prior to Meta, she served at HMD Global as Global Head of Communications and earlier as Communications Head, India, where she drove global and regional brand communications, product narratives, executive visibility, and market reputation for Nokia mobile devices.
Earlier, Magu held key leadership roles at Microsoft India, where she managed consumer and devices communications following Microsoft’s acquisition of Nokia’s devices business. Her role focused on integrated communication strategy, brand advocacy, product positioning, and transition management.
Her earlier career includes nearly four years with Nokia India as Communications Manager, where she led product communications, crisis management, thought leadership, sponsorships, and corporate communications during major market and business shifts.
Magu also held senior consulting and agency leadership positions at 20:20 Media and Perfect Relations, where she advised major global and Indian brands across technology, FMCG, aviation, automotive, oil & gas, and public affairs sectors.
Her broad communications journey spans leading organizations including Google India, Meta, Microsoft, Nokia, HMD Global, TripAdvisor, Canon, and several multinational enterprises, making her one of India’s most experienced communications leaders.
