Bethesda, Maryland, United States, January 2026 — Robert Mellwig has started a new position as Chief People and Culture Officer at Auberge Collection, marking the latest step in his progression within the luxury hospitality group’s global people leadership function. In this role, Mellwig will lead the organisation’s people and culture agenda as Auberge continues to grow its portfolio of distinctive luxury properties worldwide.
Prior to his appointment as Chief People and Culture Officer, Robert Mellwig served as Executive Vice President, Talent & Culture at Auberge Collection, following his earlier role as Senior Vice President, Talent & Culture. Across these roles, he has been closely involved in shaping the company’s talent strategy, culture initiatives, and leadership capabilities in alignment with the brand’s premium hospitality ethos.
Before joining Auberge Collection, Mellwig was Senior Vice President, Talent & Culture (HR) for Accor – North & Central America, where he led the overall HR function across the region. His responsibilities spanned workforce strategy, leadership development, and organisational effectiveness across a large and diverse hospitality footprint.
Earlier, he served as Chief Culture Officer (Global CHRO) at sbe Lifestyle Hospitality, where he supported a global portfolio of lifestyle brands focused on creating distinctive guest experiences. Prior to that, he was Senior Vice President, Human Resources at Two Roads Hospitality, contributing to the growth of an international lifestyle hospitality platform encompassing hotels, resorts, and dining destinations.
Mellwig’s earlier career includes long tenures in senior HR leadership roles with Destination Hotels and Starwood Hotels & Resorts, as well as serving as Director of Human Resources at W Hotels, building deep expertise across talent, culture, and organisational development within global hospitality environments.
