Mumbai, Maharashtra, India, December 2024 – Procter & Gamble India has announced the appointment of Rohini Laya Venkateswaran as its new Chief Sales Officer, effective January 2025. An alumna of SPJIMR SP Jain Institute of Management & Research, Mumbai, Venkateswaran brings nearly two decades of experience in distributor management, modern trade, and sales strategy. She succeeds Sai Ramana Ponugoti, who is leaving the organization after years of commendable service.
In her new role, Venkateswaran will oversee P&G India’s sales strategies and operations, driving the company’s growth in one of its key markets. Her extensive global experience positions her to strengthen P&G’s sales leadership and contribute to its vision of touching lives with its trusted brands.
Rohini Laya Venkateswaran has had a stellar career with Procter & Gamble, spanning over 19 years. Most recently, she served as Vice President and Country Manager, East Gulf & Sales Strategy Gulf, where she managed sales operations across the UAE, Kuwait, Oman, Bahrain, and Qatar. Prior to this, she held the position of Vice President Sales Strategy India & Marketing Leader for Olay and Old Spice, leading transformative strategies for these iconic brands in India.
Her tenure also includes leadership roles such as Director, Sales Strategy & Planning Leader India and Associate Director for Modern Retail & E-Commerce, where she was instrumental in driving sales innovation and building effective go-to-market strategies. Earlier in her career, Venkateswaran gained invaluable experience managing key accounts, distributor relationships, and retail partnerships in various regional roles across India and internationally.
