Ahmedabad, Gujarat, India,April 2025 — Rohit Sharma has been appointed as Head of Cyber Security & Chief Risk Officer at Adani Power, marking a significant milestone in his over two-decade-long career in information security, critical infrastructure protection, and risk management. In his new role, Rohit will spearhead the integration of cybersecurity and enterprise risk functions, reinforcing Adani Power’s resilience and security posture across its pan-India energy infrastructure.
Rohit has been associated with Adani Power since 2021, where he initially joined as Head of Cyber Security, later serving as Vice President before his recent elevation. Over the past four years, he has been instrumental in building robust cyber defense systems, leading the establishment of security frameworks, and aligning security strategies with business goals across Adani Power and Adani Energy Solutions Ltd.
Before joining Adani, Rohit spent an illustrious 19 years at NTPC Limited, where he led cyber security operations, incident response, and the protection of critical information infrastructure. He held progressive roles, including Deputy General Manager (IT-Security), and played a pivotal part in implementing ISO 27001 standards, setting up Security Operations Centers, and developing cyber crisis management plans.
Rohit’s career began at NTPC in 2002, where he progressed through several technical and leadership roles, gaining deep expertise in SCADA security, vulnerability management, advanced malware defense, and secure communications systems. His journey is defined by a strong foundation in engineering and a passion for securing vital national infrastructure.
With his appointment, Adani Power is set to further strengthen its cybersecurity and risk management initiatives as it continues its mission to provide affordable and reliable electricity across India.
