Bengaluru, Karnataka, India, November 2025 — Romilla Ghosh has been appointed as Cluster Director of Human Resources at The Chancery Group, overseeing HR strategy and people operations across The Chancery Pavilion and The Chancery Hotel, two of Bengaluru’s most iconic luxury hospitality destinations. In her new role, Romilla will lead strategic HR initiatives, talent management, and organizational development, driving a unified people culture across the group.

Before stepping into this cluster leadership role, Romilla Ghosh served as Human Resources Manager (HOD) at The Chancery Pavilion, Bengaluru, where she led end-to-end HR operations for a five-star luxury property with over 400 employees. She provided strategic HR guidance to the management team, strengthened talent pipelines, introduced leadership development programs, and chaired the Internal Complaints Committee for the group. Her tenure was marked by initiatives that enhanced employee engagement, compliance, and service excellence in a high-performance hospitality environment.

Prior to this, she was Assistant General Manager – Human Resources (Group) at White Castle Hospitality Group, overseeing HR across diverse F&B brands including Ozora, M Bar Kitchen & Cocktails, Mozza, The Riverside Café, POD, and Stryk. Her leadership focus on talent retention, organizational culture, and compliance positioned the group as a people-first employer in Kolkata’s hospitality scene.

Earlier in her career, Romilla served as Human Resources Manager at Marriott International, leading HR for Fairfield by Marriott Kolkata, a complex property with 182 keys and a convention center. She was part of the Executive Committee and Leadership Team, driving strategic HR initiatives and achieving multiple recognitions, including the APEC Award for Most Improved Time to Fill.

She previously held key HR roles at White Castle Hospitality, Merlin Group, and Medica Superspecialty Hospital, where she strengthened organizational structures, implemented performance management systems, and drove employee learning and development. Her early experience at South City Projects (Kolkata) Ltd and ICICI Prudential Life Insurance Company built her foundation in HR operations, recruitment, and organizational development.

Romilla holds an MBA in Human Resource Management from Punjab Technical University and a certification in Human Resource Management from the Indian Institute of Management, Calcutta, underscoring her academic and professional excellence in HR leadership.

Matt holds a BA in Economics from the University of Southern California, an MSc from the London School of Economics, and an MBA from Harvard Business School. He is the co-author of numerous Harvard Business School case studies and articles on leadership.
