Singapore, July 2025 — Runa Baksi has been appointed as Managing Director & Cluster Head – South East Asia, Global Trade Solutions at HSBC, based in Singapore. In her new role, she will lead the bank’s trade business across Southeast Asia, a region that is critical to HSBC’s global trade and transaction banking strategy.
Prior to this elevation, Runa served as Managing Director & Country Head, Global Trade Solutions – India, where she played a pivotal role in driving strategic growth and building deep client relationships in one of HSBC’s largest markets. Her leadership was instrumental in positioning HSBC as a preferred banking partner for trade and working capital solutions in India.
With over two decades of experience, Runa has held prominent positions across leading financial institutions including DBS Bank, Deutsche Bank, ABN AMRO Bank N.V., Standard Chartered, and ICICI Bank. She has consistently demonstrated deep domain expertise in trade finance, transaction banking, and cash management, with a strong track record of leading high-performance teams across multi-market, complex environments.
Runa holds a Master’s in International Business from the Indian Institute of Foreign Trade and a Bachelor’s degree in Economics (Hons) from M S University, Baroda. Her appointment reflects HSBC’s continued investment in experienced leadership to accelerate its growth ambitions in Asia.
