Muscat, Oman, January 2026 — Galfar Engineering & Contracting SAOG has appointed Salim Al Harthy as its Chief Human Resources Officer (CHRO), strengthening the organization’s leadership team as it continues to expand its multi-billion-dollar engineering, construction, and infrastructure operations across Oman and the wider Middle East.
In his new role as Chief Human Resources Officer at Galfar Engineering & Contracting SAOG, Salim Al Harthy leads the company’s group-wide human capital strategy for a workforce of over 25,000 employees supporting large-scale EPC and infrastructure projects across the Sultanate of Oman.
Immediately prior to this appointment, Salim spent nearly four years with Weatherford in Oman as Senior Human Resources Manager, where he oversaw HR operations for complex oilfield services portfolios and multi-national project teams.
Before Weatherford, he served for over three years with Arabian Drilling Company in Saudi Arabia as Human Resources Manager and HR Manager – Operations, leading people strategy for rig operations and manufacturing functions.
Salim also brings deep international HR leadership experience from his long tenure with Schlumberger (SLB), where he spent over fifteen years in a variety of senior regional and country HR leadership roles across the Middle East, Europe, and the United States. His roles included HR Manager – Houston Technology Center, Geomarket HR Manager – Oman, Compensation & Benefits Manager – GCC, Regional HR Manager – Middle East & Asia, and Country HR Manager – Qatar, building strong expertise in workforce transformation, compensation governance, and large-scale global mobility programs.
