Al Ahli Bank of Kuwait (ABK) has promoted Sana Al Saqabi as its new Group Chief Compliance Officer. This promotion comes after an impressive tenure spanning over 15 years within the bank, marking a significant milestone in Al Saqabi’s distinguished career in the financial sector.
Sana Al Saqabi has dedicated nearly sixteen years to ABK, having originally joined the bank in November 2008. Over the years, she has risen through the ranks, beginning her journey as an Executive Manager and later serving as the Head of Compliance since her initial appointment. Her recent role as AGM since October 2019 has prepared her for this new leadership challenge. Her consistent performance and strategic leadership in compliance have been pivotal in strengthening ABK’s regulatory frameworks and compliance operations across Kuwait and the UAE.
Prior to her long-standing service at ABK, Al Saqabi made significant contributions at Burgan Bank, where she was part of the Operations Division for almost three years. Her foundational career began at the Central Bank of Kuwait, where she spent nearly a decade overseeing off-site supervision, which involved meticulous regulatory compliance and interaction with controlled financial institutions. These roles have equipped her with a deep understanding of the banking sector’s regulatory environment, both on a national and international scale.
