Singapore, April 2025 — Sanjay Deshmukh has been appointed as Vice President – Asia-Pacific & Japan (APJ) at Elastic, the global leader in search-powered AI solutions. This strategic move marks Elastic’s commitment to accelerating its expansion across APJ, a region witnessing rapid digital transformation and widespread adoption of AI-driven technologies.
With a distinguished career spanning more than three decades in the enterprise software sector, Sanjay brings a rich blend of operational leadership and business transformation expertise. Prior to joining Elastic, he was Senior Regional Vice President for ASEAN and India at Snowflake, where he played a pivotal role in scaling operations and driving strategic growth. Before that, Sanjay spent over seven years at VMware, including as Vice President & Managing Director for South East Asia and Korea, and Vice President, End-User Computing for Asia Pacific & Japan.
Earlier in his career, he held senior leadership roles at Citrix, SAP, and Business Objects, leading transformative initiatives and go-to-market strategies across India and the broader Asia-Pacific region. Sanjay’s deep understanding of customer needs, combined with his strategic vision and execution experience, make him a powerful addition to Elastic’s global leadership team.
In his new role, Sanjay will be responsible for shaping Elastic’s growth strategy across APJ, strengthening customer and partner ecosystems, and capitalizing on the surge in demand for AI-powered search, observability, and security solutions.
