Mumbai, Maharashtra, India, July 2025 — PwC India has announced the elevation of Santanu Das as Director – Management & Strategy Consulting (Financial Services), recognizing his instrumental contributions in building the firm’s consulting capabilities within the financial services domain. Since joining PwC in 2022, Santanu has led high-impact engagements across banking, insurance, and investment management, driving outcomes through a fusion of strategic vision and operational execution.
In his expanded role, Santanu will be responsible for scaling PwC’s Financial Services consulting practice across India. His focus areas include CXO advisory, business design, technology strategy, enterprise architecture, and the application of AI-driven transformation. He is widely acknowledged for his leadership in capability development, client engagement, and driving next-gen operating models from strategy to execution.
Before PwC, Santanu spent over four years at Monitor Deloitte, where he led strategy and operations engagements across financial institutions. His work included market entry for digital banks, M&A advisory, cloud strategy, and blockchain-enabled operations. He was deeply involved in delivery governance, recruitment, and mentorship, helping shape Deloitte’s consulting excellence in India.
Earlier, Santanu worked with Societe Generale CIB, where he managed client coverage and trade finance strategy, aligning global banking operations with risk and regulatory priorities. He also held multiple roles at Deloitte Consulting (India and the U.S.), where he advised large banks and insurers on strategy, operating model transformation, and digital innovation.
Santanu began his career as a Business Systems Engineer in the Banking and Capital Markets division of Infosys, gaining early exposure to systems analysis and process improvement in the financial sector.
An alumnus of the Indian School of Business (ISB), where he ranked fourth in the CFO Program, Santanu also holds an MBA in International Business, Strategy, and Finance from the Symbiosis Institute of International Business. He completed his BTech in Electrical Engineering from Meghnad Saha Institute of Technology and has pursued multiple executive certifications in Artificial Intelligence, Applied Analytics, and Global Governance from renowned institutions.
His appointment reflects PwC’s continued commitment to delivering value-led consulting services and empowering clients to stay ahead in a rapidly transforming financial ecosystem.
