Greenville, North Carolina, United States, March 2025 – Sara Lilley has been appointed as Vice President, Talent Management at ECU Health, a leading mission-driven healthcare system serving 1.4 million residents across eastern North Carolina. In her new role, Sara will be responsible for overseeing talent development initiatives, succession planning, leadership programs, and employee engagement across the health system.
Prior to joining ECU Health, Sara Lilley served for nearly two decades at East Carolina University, most recently as Assistant Vice Chancellor in the Department for People Operations, Success, and Opportunity. In this role, she provided strategic leadership over HR operations and played a critical role in transforming talent management practices across the institution.

Over the course of her 18-year tenure at East Carolina University, she held several progressively senior HR roles including Assistant Vice Chancellor for HR, Talent Management, Director of Employee Relations, and Employee Relations Consultant. Her extensive responsibilities included policy interpretation, performance management, conflict resolution, and employee engagement programs.
Earlier in her career, Sara worked as a Human Resources Assistant at Bayer CropScience, where she contributed to restructuring initiatives and succession planning processes, and provided HR support across multiple functions. Her well-rounded experience across public and private sectors makes her well-equipped to lead talent strategy at ECU Health.
