United Kingdom, August 2025 — Sarah Burns has been appointed Head of People at Mawdsleys. She will be responsible for driving HR strategy and employee experience across the pharmaceutical wholesaler’s hybrid workforce. Her appointment brings deep expertise in organizational design, mergers and acquisitions, TUPE, and people operations developed across complex, regulated environments.
Most recently, Sarah Burns was Regional People Business Partner / HR Manager at OCU, where she expanded her remit post-acquisition to cover both Integrum Power Engineering and broader operations across the North West and North Wales. She led efforts in employee relations, total rewards, and harmonization of people processes during a critical integration period.
Prior to OCU, she was HR Manager at Integrum Power Engineering, where she supported the company through policy development, due diligence, onboarding, and resourcing strategy. Her work helped create a robust people function in a growing infrastructure environment.
Earlier, she served as Human Resources Business Partner at the Kellogg Company, where she worked within Europe’s largest food manufacturing facility. She was instrumental in reducing operational loss, partnering with unions, leading TUPE processes, and managing large-scale organizational redesigns.
Her previous roles include HR Business Partner Lead and HR Business Partner at The Trafford College Group, where she delivered statutory HR compliance, team training, and improved data reporting frameworks. She also held several HR roles at Diageo over seven years, supporting marketing and production teams across the UK and Ireland. She began her HR career with Mazars Ireland and CPL.
Mawdsleys is a UK-based pharmaceutical wholesaler and a trusted partner to both the healthcare sector and pharmaceutical industry. The company delivers a wide array of services spanning third-party logistics for pharma, named patient medicine distribution, and clinical trial logistics, including blinding, labelling, and global distribution. It also supports clinical trial material sourcing and manufacturing, regulatory affairs, and patient information testing. In the healthcare space, Mawdsleys provides wholesale services to hospitals, international sales, and unlicensed medicine supply. Its solutions extend to clinical trial supply for hospitals and academia, pharmaceutical overlabelling, and integrated pharmacy IT systems—positioning the organization as a vital link in the delivery of life-changing treatments.
