London, United Kingdom, September 2024 – Sarah Connaughton has been named the Chief People Officer at BancTrust & Co., a global investment bank specializing in emerging markets. In her new role, Sarah will lead human resources strategies, talent development initiatives, and employee engagement efforts as BancTrust continues its global expansion and strengthens its presence in high beta credit markets. Her appointment aligns with the company’s mission to enhance its organizational effectiveness and attract top-tier talent in the emerging markets sector.
Before joining BancTrust & Co., Sarah Connaughton served as a Non-Executive Director and Board of Trustees Member at Thames Valley Air Ambulance for 1 year and 9 months. In this role, Sarah contributed to the governance and strategic planning of one of the UK’s leading air ambulance charities, supporting life-saving operations through a focus on governance, risk management, and compliance.
Prior to her role at Thames Valley, Sarah was the Group HR Director at Bovill Newgate, where she oversaw HR operations during a period of significant change. She was pivotal in managing the M&A due diligence process and the integration of Bovill into Inflexion PE-backed Ocorian. Her work in employee engagement, M&A due diligence, and HR transformation helped drive organizational success over her 5-year tenure.
Sarah also held the position of Head of HR for Risk & Business Finance at Aldermore Bank PLC, part of FirstRand. For 2 years, she focused on HR strategy, executive coaching, and managing employee transitions, playing a key role in the bank’s HR transformation and leadership development programs.
Earlier in her career, Sarah gained experience as the HR Director at Parker Fitzgerald and served in leadership roles at Capco, Deutsche Bank, and Brevan Howard, where she led HR functions in global financial institutions. These roles equipped her with a deep understanding of global HR leadership, employee rewards programs, and M&A integration, making her well-prepared for her new role at BancTrust & Co.
