New Delhi, Delhi, India, October 2025 – Indian Oil Corporation Limited (IndianOil) has announced the appointment of Mr. Saumitra P. Srivastava as Director (Marketing) on its Board. With over three decades of experience in downstream operations, strategy, and retail transformation, Mr. Srivastava’s appointment marks a significant milestone in IndianOil’s continued journey toward innovation, customer-centricity, and sustainable energy solutions.
In his new role, Mr. Srivastava will spearhead IndianOil’s marketing vision and strengthen its strategic initiatives in line with the company’s broader mission of driving India’s transition towards future-ready and cleaner fuels.
Mr. Srivastava has had a distinguished career with Indian Oil Corporation Limited, where he has led several transformative initiatives. Before his elevation to the Board, he served as Head of Corporate Strategy, leading enterprise-wide initiatives to align business transformation with national and global energy trends.
Earlier, as Executive Director – Retail Transformation, he played a pivotal role in reshaping IndianOil’s retail landscape by digitalizing processes, improving network productivity, and introducing customer-focused innovations across more than 23,000 retail outlets. His leadership in driving wallet-based fuel payments marked a first-of-its-kind milestone in India’s fuel retail sector.
In previous leadership roles, including Chief General Manager (Retail Transformation) and General Manager (Retail Sales), Mr. Srivastava championed efforts in market expansion, service quality enhancement, and brand building across India’s dynamic energy markets. He also served as Chief Divisional Retail Sales Manager and Sr. Divisional Retail Sales Manager, managing operations in key territories and establishing CNG retail infrastructure initiatives that aligned with India’s green mobility mission.
Before taking on his corporate transformation mandates, Mr. Srivastava gained extensive operational experience in retail sales and non-fuel business segments, overseeing strategic alliances and developing real estate revenue models to diversify business income streams. His earlier roles in Bathinda, Mumbai, and New Delhi helped build a strong foundation in channel management, marketing strategy, and customer engagement.
