Dubai, United Arab Emirates, August 2025 – Shahed Abdul Rahiman has been appointed as Head – Human Resources, Corporate & Aster Digital Health-UAE at Aster DM Healthcare, a leading healthcare conglomerate in the Middle East. In this strategic role, Shahed leads HR for the corporate and Aster Digital Health divisions in the UAE, overseeing talent management, organizational development, employee engagement, and strategic HR initiatives to support the company’s continued growth and innovation.

Shahed has been with Aster DM Healthcare for more than 13 years, steadily advancing through multiple leadership roles. Prior to his current position, he served as Deputy Head of HR – Corporate & Head of HR – Aster Digital Health, where he successfully drove people strategies for the organization’s digital health transformation and corporate operations. His earlier role as Lead – Corporate Human Resources saw him manage HR strategy across the corporate functions, implementing programs in talent management, leadership development, diversity & inclusion, and employee wellness.

Earlier in his tenure, Shahed served as HR Business Partner – Corporate HR, where he played a key role in aligning HR policies with business goals, and as Assistant Manager and Senior Executive, overseeing doctor recruitment, licensing, onboarding, and HR compliance processes in line with UAE labor and healthcare regulations. His career reflects a deep commitment to employee experience, stakeholder engagement, and strategic HR leadership in the healthcare sector.

Shahed holds a Master of Business Administration (MBA) in Human Resources Management from the University of Wales Trinity Saint David.

Matthew Breitfelder is Partner and Global Head of Human Capital at Apollo, where he focuses on attracting extraordinary talent to the firm and creating an innovative, inclusive, high-performance culture that brings out the best in Apollo’s people. Matt leads Apollo’s recruiting, talent management, compensation, succession planning, citizenship, employee relations, development, and culture work. He is also a member of the firm’s Leadership Team. Matt is committed to expanding opportunities across Apollo’s workplace, marketplace, and communities. Prior to joining Apollo, Matt was Chief Talent Officer at BlackRock as well as a member of the Operating Committee. Previously, he held strategy, talent, and innovation roles at Mastercard, PwC, and CEB/Gartner.

Matt holds a BA in Economics from the University of Southern California, an MSc from the London School of Economics, and an MBA from Harvard Business School. He currently serves on the boards of the Lumina Foundation, the Aspen Institute’s Business and Society program, the Milken Institute’s Inclusive Capitalism initiative, and Georgetown University’s initiative on AI, Analytics, and the Future of Work. He is the co-author of numerous Harvard Business School case studies and articles on leadership. Matt has been recognized as a Top Global CHRO multiple times by n2Growth and Stanford Business School.
