Shakira Keddo has been appointed as the Chief People Officer at the Greater London Authority (GLA). With a solid track record spanning over a decade in human resources and strategic management, Keddo’s expertise is set to enhance the PeopleScout and PeopleManagement lines of business at GLA.
Keddo’s journey within GLA began two years ago, stepping into the role of Assistant Director – People. During her tenure, she excelled in orchestrating HR strategies, transformation projects, and effectively managing workforce planning, which paved the way for her recent elevation to the executive rank.
Prior to joining GLA, Keddo held significant roles across various prominent organizations. She was an HR Deputy Director at the Cabinet Office, where she played a critical role in reshaping the Government Digital Service and the Government Communication Service programmes. Her efforts were pivotal in enhancing HR functions and supporting policy compliance across different government departments.
Before her stint at the Cabinet Office, Keddo served at the Department for Environment, Food and Rural Affairs as Deputy Director for Strategic Resourcing and later as a Senior HR Business Partner. In these roles, she was instrumental in directing HR policies and integrating strategic resourcing plans that aligned with corporate goals.
Her extensive portfolio also includes notable positions at the UK Government’s Department for Culture, Media, and Sport, and earlier foundational roles that shaped her skills in employee relations and HR management at various levels.
