Sydney, New South Wales, Australia, October 2024 – Shalini Singh has recently taken on the role of Head of People Services at the Australian Red Cross, where she will lead the organization’s HR strategy and operations, focusing on providing strategic people services to enhance employee engagement and foster a supportive workplace culture.
Before joining the Australian Red Cross, Shalini Singh served as the Head of HR Operations and Services at Special Broadcasting Service (SBS) Australia. During her tenure of nearly three years, Shalini was instrumental in managing HR operations, implementing culture change initiatives, and overseeing recruitment and HR services across the organization. Her leadership was critical in ensuring that SBS maintained a strong, supportive, and inclusive workplace environment.
Prior to SBS, Shalini held the position of Manager People Services at Sydney Water for over two years. She managed a large team and was responsible for driving key HR services, including recruitment, culture change programs, and workforce development initiatives. Before being promoted to Manager, she served as Team Manager People Services at Sydney Water, where she enhanced employee relations and service delivery across the organization.
Earlier in her career, Shalini was the General Manager of Human Resources at Achieve Australia, where she oversaw employee relations, recruitment, and HR projects, including the implementation of new strategies in response to the National Disability Insurance Scheme (NDIS). Her leadership helped the organization navigate complex HR challenges while enhancing the overall employee experience.
Shalini also worked as an HR Manager at Sydney Children’s Hospitals Network, where she partnered with department heads on workforce planning, job evaluations, and managing change. She was responsible for employee relations and represented the organization in the Industrial Relations Commission. Shalini briefly served as the Acting Human Resources Director during her time there, managing a range of HR functions, including employee relations, work health and safety, payroll, and learning and development.
