Toronto, Ontario, Canada, December 2025 – Shelley Smit has been appointed as the new Chief Executive Officer of Omnicom Media Canada, replacing Cam Reston, who is reportedly exiting the company. In her new leadership role, Shelley will oversee all aspects of Omnicom Media Canada’s operations, client relationships, and strategic growth across the region. Her appointment signals continuity and strength as the organization continues to drive forward its media ecosystem transformation under the global Omnicom Media Group (OMG) umbrella.
The announcement also confirmed the elevation of Noah Vardon as General Manager of Omnicom Media Canada, further strengthening the executive leadership. OMG clarified that there will be no additional changes to the leadership teams within its media agencies at this time.
Shelley Smit most recently served as Chief Executive Officer at IPG Mediabrands Canada, where she provided strategic direction and executive oversight, helping position the agency for continued growth in a rapidly shifting media landscape.
Before this, Shelley spent nearly 14 years at UM Worldwide, where she held various key leadership roles. She served as CEO from 2021 to 2023, President for over nine years, and also held responsibilities as EVP, Managing Director and Managing Director at J3 Canada, managing all media, digital, and program content for Johnson & Johnson in Canada.
Earlier in her career, Shelley worked for over five years with Anheuser-Busch InBev, serving as Director of Innovation, Media & Sponsorship and previously as Global Media Director, overseeing key initiatives across North America and global markets.
Shelley began her media and sponsorship journey with Labatt Breweries of Canada, where she spent five years as Director of Media & Sponsorships, laying the foundation for her future in media strategy and client leadership.
