With a strong background in banking and human resources, Shelly brings extensive expertise in private banking, relationship management, and organizational leadership. Her experience in managing diverse teams and driving HR initiatives will be instrumental in her new role.
Shelly Talaro Kamakura joins First Hawaiian Bank after a long tenure at Central Pacific Bank, where she spent approximately 13 years in various roles. Most recently, she served as the Vice President, Private Banking Team Manager for around 2 years and 4 months. In this role, she led a team focused on providing personalized banking services to high-net-worth clients.
Before that, Shelly was the VP, Institutional Trust Manager for nearly 4 years, where she managed trust services and client relationships in Honolulu, Hawaii. She also held the position of AVP, Relationship Banking Program Manager for about 7 years, overseeing relationship banking programs and driving customer engagement initiatives.
Earlier at Central Pacific Bank, Shelly served as the AVP & Senior Relationship Banking Officer for approximately 9 years and as a Relationship Banking Officer for about 11 years. In these roles, she was responsible for managing client relationships and providing comprehensive banking solutions.
Shelly’s early career includes a role as an AVP, Private Banking Officer at American Savings Bank for about 2 years, where she managed private banking services in the Kapiolani-Metro/East Region.
