Kolkata, West Bengal, India, November 2025 – Reliance Nippon Life Insurance has announced the appointment of Shilpa Maheshwari as Vice President Human Resources, marking a significant leadership addition to the organisation’s people and culture agenda. In her new role, Shilpa will lead strategic HR initiatives, strengthen talent systems, and support the company’s mission of delivering trusted protection and long-term value to millions of policyholders across India.
Before stepping into this new leadership role, Shilpa served at Edelweiss Life Insurance as Lead – Talent Acquisition, where she spent nearly three years shaping the organisation’s hiring strategy, driving executive search, strengthening corporate recruiting capabilities, and building talent pipelines aligned with business growth across India. Her work spanned stakeholder management, analytical decision making, and enhancing the hiring experience for diverse business units.
Prior to this, she held the position of Lead HRBP at BYJU’S, where she contributed to business partnering, employee support frameworks, and talent alignment at scale. Before her BYJU’S experience, she spent close to seven years at Edelweiss Tokio Life Insurance as Senior Human Resources Business Partner, where she worked extensively across HR partnering, talent management, and HR operations for multiple businesses. Her strong grounding in people processes and relationship management was significantly strengthened during this tenure.
Earlier in her career, Shilpa gained foundational HR experience across multiple respected organisations. At TKM Global, she worked as Business HR, supporting people operations for a diversified workforce. Before that, at Kotak Life, she worked for over four years across roles including Human Resources Business Partner and Learning & Development Specialist, supporting talent development, capability enhancement, and people engagement. Her early exposure also includes trainee roles at UBS and SABMiller, giving her a comprehensive understanding of industry practices early in her journey.
Shilpa’s academic journey includes completing her MBA in Human Resources from Symbiosis Centre for Management and Human Resource Development (SCMHRD), where she built a strong foundation in HR strategy, organisational behaviour, and talent systems—skills that have shaped her career over the years.
