Columbia, South Carolina, United States, September 2025 — Shirina Whig has taken on a new role at AgFirst Farm Credit Bank as HR Director, People Partnerships, where she will lead the HR Business Partners, Talent Acquisition, and People Analytics teams. Her appointment strengthens AgFirst’s commitment to cultivating strategic HR capabilities that drive business impact across its cooperative network.
Shirina has been with AgFirst since 2023, previously serving as Senior Strategic Human Resources Business Partner, where she provided leadership and guidance to 18 HR business teams supporting a workforce of 5,000 employees.
Before joining AgFirst, she held a key HR role at CommonSpirit Health as System HR Manager, Mergers & Acquisitions, where she led due diligence, negotiation, and implementation efforts for complex M&A and divestiture projects.
Her journey also includes nearly seven years at MUSC Health, where she served in several roles including HR Director, HR Business Partner, and Administrative Fellow. During her time there, she contributed to HR strategy development, supported multiple merger and acquisition initiatives, and championed employee wellness and inclusion programs.
Earlier in her career, she worked as a Business Development Intern at Greenville Health System, gaining early exposure to strategic planning and organizational development in healthcare.
