With over 25 years of expertise in human capital management, organizational transformation, and strategic leadership, Chandi will play a key role in enhancing stakeholder engagement and driving long-term partnerships.
Her expertise in stakeholder relations, digital strategy, and talent transformation will be invaluable in driving innovation and business excellence. Chandi’s appointment reaffirms ShoreTree’s commitment to fostering strategic partnerships, optimizing talent management, and delivering transformative global solutions.
Chandi is a globally recognized human resource professional and formerly served as Chief People Officer of Axiata Digital Labs, overseeing operations in Sri Lanka, Malaysia, and Indonesia. She specializes in integrating HR into core business operations and leveraging technology to build a globally competitive talent pool.
Chandi commenced her career in Manhattan, New York, in 1995, gaining valuable international experience before returning to Sri Lanka in 2001 to join MAS Holdings, where she later led the group’s learning and development function. In 2013, she joined Virtusa as the Head of HR for Sri Lanka, later taking on multiple global roles, including Global Business Unit Head and Global Digital HR Head.
Her contributions to the IT industry and human resource development have earned her numerous accolades, including recognition in Echelon magazine’s New Establishment 100 list and the 50 Most Powerful Women in Sri Lanka. She has received prestigious awards such as the ‘Bridge to Success Award’ from the American Alumni Association and the US Embassy of Sri Lanka, Asia’s Most Innovative HR Tech Leaders award from the Asia Pacific HRM Congress, and the Women Leadership Achievement Award from the World Women Leadership Congress.
Beyond HR leadership, Chandi is a passionate advocate for entrepreneurship and leadership development. She currently serves as Chairperson of the Lankan Angel Network and has held board positions with The American Chamber of Commerce, Sri Lanka, SLASSCOM, and the Association of HR Professionals. She has also contributed to national initiatives, serving on the Steering Committee on People Development for the Ceylon Chamber of Commerce and participating in expert committees for the Government of Sri Lanka on digital maturity models and vocational qualification frameworks.
Chandi holds an MBA and a bachelor’s degree in business administration and economics and has completed executive education at INSEAD Business School.
