Bengaluru, Karnataka, India, July 2025 – Shyamala Jayakumar has taken on a new role as Head of Talent Management & Solutions at EmbarkGCC, bringing with her over two decades of experience in human resources, recruitment strategy, and talent transformation. In this strategic position, she will lead EmbarkGCC’s talent advisory, acquisition, and management offerings to support the seamless establishment and growth of global capability centers (GCCs) in India.
Prior to joining EmbarkGCC, Shyamala spent over five years at Commonwealth Bank, where she most recently served as HR Business Partner, India, after leading as Head of Talent Acquisition. During her tenure, she played a critical role in expanding the bank’s talent presence in India, driving leadership hiring, and aligning acquisition strategies with global talent needs.
Before Commonwealth Bank, she worked with AXA as Head of Recruitment, India, where she spearheaded campus and lateral hiring initiatives, enhanced employer branding, and introduced innovative sourcing models tailored for India’s dynamic hiring ecosystem.
Earlier, Shyamala spent over three years at Xchanging Technologies (a DXC company) as VP HR, India, where she led HR engagement, operations, recruitment, and employee relations for a workforce spread across six locations. Her work focused on organizational transformation, global stakeholder management, and operational effectiveness.
Her prior experiences include leadership stints at ANZ Bank, Reliance Retail, Gilbert Tweed Associates, and TMI Network, where she built deep capabilities in talent advisory, HR consulting, and recruitment operations. Shyamala began her career in the sales function with Macmillan, which gave her early exposure to customer relationship management and business development.
