Leicester, England, United Kingdom, November 2025 — Simon Bedford has been appointed as Interim Chief Financial Officer at Ibstock Plc, a leading UK-based FTSE 250 manufacturer of sustainable building products and solutions. With over two decades of extensive finance and leadership experience, Simon brings deep expertise in financial governance, strategic planning, investor relations, and operational transformation to his new role.
Simon has been with Ibstock Plc for more than five years, most recently serving as Group Financial Controller, where he was responsible for the company’s external listed reporting, internal controls, governance, and performance management across its UK operations. His portfolio also included leading the FP&A, Investor Relations, Tax, and Treasury functions, while acting as the enterprise risk leader and overseeing the Shared Service Centre. His contributions were instrumental in strengthening Ibstock’s financial resilience and governance frameworks during a period of strategic growth and operational expansion.
Before joining Ibstock, Simon spent nearly 15 years with Rolls-Royce, where he held multiple senior finance roles across divisions, including Finance Director – Operations, Financial Controller – Civil Aerospace Division, and Financial Controller – Civil Large Engines. He led global finance teams, implemented IFRS15, and played a key role in restoring investor confidence within the Civil Aerospace business — achievements that earned him a CFO Award for Excellence. His strategic insight and leadership at Rolls-Royce contributed to major initiatives in cost efficiency, capability expansion, and long-term program management.
Simon began his career with Arthur Andersen & Co. as a Senior Consultant, followed by a successful tenure in Internal Audit at Rolls-Royce, where he developed a strong foundation in risk management and financial controls. He holds an Executive MBA in Business Administration from the University of Warwick – Warwick Business School, further complementing his credentials as a dynamic and results-driven finance leader.
