Singapore, April 2026 — Somya Sugandha has joined Thermo Fisher Scientific as HR Leader for APMEA, taking on the role of Vice President Human Resources APMEA. This appointment marks an important milestone in her global HR leadership journey and reflects her extensive experience across regional people strategy, talent management, organizational transformation, and business partnering. With a strong track record across multinational organizations, she brings a well-rounded and strategic people leadership profile to her new role.
Before joining Thermo Fisher Scientific, Somya Sugandha served as VP HR Head for GE Gas Power – Asia Pacific at GE Vernova. Prior to that, she held multiple senior HR leadership roles at GE, including Regional HR Head – APAC, Regional HR Head Gas Power, Regional HR Head for Power Businesses, and Global HR Head. These assignments reflect a strong progression across regional and global people leadership roles in complex business environments.
Earlier, she was associated with Alstom Group as Global Talent Recruitment Head, Director Talent Management, and Head of Talent Management India. Prior to that, she worked with Ernst & Young as Manager, with GENPACT as Senior Manager, and with Bharti Airtel Limited as Assistant Manager. Together, these roles reflect a long and progressive HR career spanning advisory, talent management, employee relations, organizational development, and strategic HR leadership.
Academically, Somya Sugandha holds an MPM in Human Resources from the Symbiosis Institute of Business Management. Her educational grounding has complemented a distinguished professional journey across Thermo Fisher Scientific, GE Vernova, GE, Alstom Group, Ernst & Young, GENPACT, and Bharti Airtel Limited.
With extensive experience across Asia Pacific and global markets, Somya Sugandha brings a strong blend of strategic HR leadership, regional people management, and transformation expertise to Thermo Fisher Scientific.
