Vienna, Austria, May 2025 – Sonja Koppensteiner has been appointed as Head of People Business Partners at Raiffeisen Bank International AG (RBI). In her new role, she will spearhead the strategic HR partnership across the organization, fostering a high-impact people agenda in collaboration with the executive board and divisional heads.
Sonja brings nearly two decades of deep HR experience within RBI, having recently served as People Business Lead and People Consultant, where she played a crucial role in shaping talent strategy and driving transformation initiatives. Prior to that, she was a People Consultant and Service Owner, managing employee benefits design and HRIS advancements.
Earlier in her journey at RBI, Sonja served for over 15 years as an HR Business Partner, supporting around 350 employees across various HR functions—from recruitment and employee development to labor law and compensation.
Before joining RBI, Sonja held HR roles at Ericsson Austria, where she managed recruitment, benefits, and labor relations during organizational restructuring, and at MCN – Millennium Communication Network, where she was the sole HR leader. She began her career in personnel consulting at Ratio BetriebsberatungsgesmbH, eventually leading government-supported employment projects.
